In approving transfers, FISD shall consider the availability of space and instructional staff, and the student's academic history, disciplinary history, and attendance records. Transfer students may only be accepted into the District if approved in accordance with the following guidelines:
-
The child of a nonresident full-time District employee or part-time professional District employee may be accepted as a transfer student. Full-time employees are defined as employees scheduled to work 30 or more hours per week, excluding overtime or supplemental duties. With supervisor approval, the child of a bus driver may be accepted as a transfer student prior to the start of the school year.
-
The child of an active-duty service member. "Servicemember" means an active duty member of the armed forces of the United States, a reserve component of the armed forces of the United States, or the Texas National Guard.
-
The child of a peace officer. "Peace officer" has the meaning assigned by Occupations Code 1701.001.
