Friendswood ISD is proud to announce the remarkable achievements of our athletes and unified relay team at the Special Olympics State Fall Classic held in College Station on Oct. 19-21.
Head Coaches Lydia Harrington and Kellie Odom, along with Assistant Coaches Dee Bynum, Kat House, and Lin Huang, led a combined team of 16 athletes and unified relayers to compete at the event.
The final state medal count for our exceptional team was as follows:
- Gold: 28
- Silver: 10
- Bronze: 8
Friendswood ISD extends heartfelt congratulations to all our athletes, buddies, and unified relay team members. The Special Olympics program is dedicated to promoting social inclusion through shared sports training and competition experiences, with Unified Sports bringing people with and without intellectual disabilities together on the same team. Our unified relay teams earned an impressive 2 Gold medals and 1 Silver medal.

- Jack Walkup: 1 Gold, 1 Bronze, 1 7th place ribbon
