
On Wednesday, November 12, Friendswood High School proudly recognized seven outstanding young women who have committed to continue their academic and athletic careers at the collegiate level. These exceptional athletes have demonstrated dedication, talent, and perseverance, earning the opportunity to compete and study at the next level.
The FHS community gathered to celebrate the achievements of these student-athletes:
● Haley Patton – University of North Dakota
Haley will join the Fighting Hawks volleyball program while pursuing a degree in Public Health Education. Her commitment to excellence on and off the court has paved the way for this next exciting chapter.
● Nadi’ya Shelby – University of Florida
Nadi’ya has officially committed to the Florida Gators volleyball program and will enroll this January after graduating high school early. As she joins one of the nation’s premier athletic programs, the Gator Nation welcomes another powerhouse competitor.
● Caroline Adams – United States Naval Academy
Caroline will continue her academic and athletic careers at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, pending completion of the admissions process. A four-year varsity athlete, three-time captain, and All-State performer, Caroline has recorded over 3,400 assists during her FHS career. She will compete for the Midshipmen while preparing to serve her country and earning a world-class education.
● Caden Carter – University of New Orleans
Caden will continue her beach volleyball career on scholarship with the New Orleans Privateers. Beginning her journey with the Gulf Coast Volleyball Association (GCVA) at age 10, she now competes for both the FHS Varsity Volleyball Team and GCVA’s National Beach Team. Her commitment, hard work, and balance between athletics, academics, and family exemplify true Mustang spirit.
● Madison Vega – Louisiana State University
A versatile multi-sport athlete, Maddy has excelled in volleyball, basketball, track, and beach volleyball. She will attend Louisiana State University to compete in beach
volleyball. Her dedication and passion have led her to this remarkable opportunity, and the Mustang community looks forward to cheering her on in purple and gold.
● Ryland Pesak – Tyler Junior College
Ryland will continue her softball journey at Tyler Junior College, where she plans to pursue a degree in Graphic Design. Her commitment to following her dreams and trusting her instincts has inspired her teammates and peers.
● Madelyn Green – Stephen F. Austin State University
Madelyn officially signed with Stephen F. Austin State University to play softball for the Ladyjacks while pursuing a degree in Nursing. Her hard work, dedication, and leadership have prepared her for success both in the classroom and on the field.
