FHS Swim and Dive Team hosts 2nd Meet of the season

The Friendswood High School 5A Swim and Dive Team hosted the 2020 Atascocita Meet at the Friendswood Natatorium on Thursday, Oct. 22. For their second meet of the season, the Mustangs competed against Humble Atacocita High School, a 6A school. The Friendswood girls’ and boys’ teams came in second to Atascocita but certainly kept it competitive. 

The Mustang girls won two of the top three slots in 1 Meter Diving, Caitlin Williams (1st) and Madeline Long (3rd). No Mustang boys competed in this event.

The foursome of Lezli Sisung, Peyton Becker, Abigail Nelson and Leah Givens brought home the win for Friendswood in both the 200-yard medley and 400-yard freestyle relays.

In the girls 200-yard freestyle relay, Friendswood claimed two of the top three spots. Hallie Ratcliff, Emily Camacho, Alex Linden and Bella Allen placed second, followed by Brooke Hubenak, Nicki Hansen, Mara White and Taite McCray who placed third.

In the boys 200-yard medley relay, Daniel Morgan, Marshall Odom, Todd Sisung and Ethan Long placed second while the boys 400-yard freestyle relay placed third, led by Todd Sisung, Daniel Morgan, Chayton Budzik and Ethan Long.

Individual places:  Leah Givens (1st) in the 200-yard freestyle; Marshall Odom (2nd) in the boys 200-yard freestyle; Abigail Nelson (2nd) in the girls 200-yard individual medley; Bella Allen (3rd) in the girls 50-yard freestyle; Lezli Sisung (1st) and Abigail Nelson (2nd) in the girls 100-yard butterfly; Todd Sisung (2nd) in the boys 100-yard butterfly; Leah Givens (1st) in the 100-yard freestyle; Alex Linden (3rd) in the girls 500-yard freestyle; Lezli Sisung (1st) in the girls 100-yard backstroke; Todd Sisung (1st) in the boys 100-yard backstroke; Peyton Becker (1st) in the girls 100-yard breaststroke; and Marshall Odom (2nd) in the boys 100-yard breaststroke.
 

The Mustang Swim and Dive Team is coached by Head Coach Craig Sikkema and Varsity Assistant Monica Whitsett.
