FHS celebrates Homecoming for 2020, Class of 2001

The Friendswood High School Mustangs battled the Beaumont United High School Timberwolves during their Homecoming game on Friday, Oct. 23 at Henry Winston Stadium. The Mustangs came up short as the Timberwolves defeated them 26-16.

During halftime, Homecoming candidates were escorted onto the field for the winners to be announced. The Homecoming Queen candidates were Meghan Flanagan, escorted by Taylor Ross; Kate Meador, escorted by Jacob Trevino; and Sia Ramchandran, escorted by Parker Baecker.

FHS 2001 Homecoming Queen Ashley Sauls Andreano, and 2019 Homecoming Queen Ofelia Asemota, presented Meador with the crown and a bouquet of roses after she was announced as the winner.

The FHS Football Sweetheart candidates included Mehkya Rhodes, escorted by Hilal Elsaadi; Jacey Wolfe, escorted by Hunter Reed; and Mary Kate Velek, escorted by Trey Wright.

MacKenzie Muecke, FHS 2019 Homecoming Sweetheart, presented Rhodes with a bouquet of red roses after she was announced as the winner.

The 2001 FHS graduating class’s reunion was postponed until next year due to COVID restrictions.       

All FHS homecoming preparations are under the direction of Mark Griffon, principal.
