The Friendswood ISD Education Foundation (FEF) wrapped up its annual Adopt-A-Grant Campaign on Friday, April 28 with a record-breaking SurPrize Patrol that awarded more than $560,000 in grants to FISD teachers.
SurPrize Patrol is a celebratory event where grants are given out to recipients in a pep rally-style event at each campus led by the Friendswood High School drumline.
"We are grateful for the opportunity to equip and empower our teachers through the grant program by providing them resources to enhance their classrooms and engage their students in new ways," Ashley Adair, FEF Executive Director, said.
Kelly Lovell, FEF Grant Chair, also expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to recognize outstanding educators in the District.
"It's always inspiring to see the amazing ideas that our teachers come up with and to be able to support them in bringing those ideas to life," Lovell said.
This year's Adopt-A-Grant Campaign saw an enthusiastic response from teachers across the District, with a record-breaking amount of grant applications submitted. The community’s response was remarkable as well with a total of over 670 grants funded for more than 160 teachers making up the $560,000 total.
The Foundation believes the success of this year's program is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our educators as well as the generosity of the Friendswood community.
"SurPrize Patrol is always a highlight of our year, nothing compares to the energy and excitement that encompasses that day," Adair said. "We are grateful to our donors and supporters who make this program possible and who share our commitment to providing the best possible educational experiences for our students."
The Foundation would like to extend a huge thank you to all of their Grant Writers, Grant Champions, Campus and District Purchasers and Approvers. FEF's Adopt-A-Grant campaign would not be possible without each of these individuals.
