Thad Roher
Superintendent of Schools
Thad Roher graduated from Barclay College in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and went on to earn a Master of Science in Education Administration from Fort Hays State University in 1995. A proud member of Friendswood High School’s Class of 1986, he has dedicated his career to education and leadership.
Over the years, Mr. Roher has served as a K–12 principal in Haviland, Kansas; assistant principal at Friendswood High School; Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum for both elementary and secondary levels; and later as Deputy Superintendent in Friendswood ISD, where he oversaw district business operations.
Outside of his professional work, Mr. Roher enjoys time with his wife, Tina, and their family. Their daughter, Maggie, is a Texas A&M University graduate who lives in Pearland with her husband and two children. Their son, Reed, a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard Honor Guard, resides in The Woodlands with his wife and son.

I did not aspire to be a superintendent of any school district. I wanted to be the superintendent of Friendswood ISD. I strongly believe in the principles and values this community was founded upon, and I am excited to continue and build upon the tradition of excellence at Friendswood ISD.
