Credit by Exam
Credit by Exam without prior instruction for K-12 students
Exams are available for Kindergarten through 8th for grade acceleration and for high school credit courses. The purpose of Credit by Exam (CBE) is to allow a student to accelerate and earn credit without prior formal instruction in that course or grade. The student must score a minimum of 80 for the required test(s) taken for the appropriate course/grade the student wants to accelerate.
K-7 Students may accelerate an entire grade level by taking and passing ALL four core content areas (reading, mathematics, science and social studies). Tests are given in two rounds. Age requirements must be met before registering for a Credit By Exam test.
High School Credit Courses Students may earn credit for high school courses by taking Credit by Exam/Exam for Acceleration (CBE) scoring an 80 or above. Students must not have prior instruction in the course they are attempting. Credit will be awarded for core high school courses after the student has successfully completed both semester exams.
